My Search Bar is a commercial Internet Explorer add-on.
This toolbar allows to search the web using popular Internet search engines. However, it also displays advertising links. My Search Bar doesn't distribute itself and must be manually installed. Lots of ad-supported application can add it to the system. My Search Bar runs every time the user launches Internet Explorer.To completely purge My Search from your computer, you need to delete the files, folders, and Windows registry keys, and registry values associated with My Search.
Removal:
Kill malicious Processes from Task Manager:
- s4bareq.exe
- my2ns.exe
Location of the infection:
- C:\Program Files\MySearch\
Registry Entries to be removed. (Take a backup of registry, before editing it)
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\{014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{014DA6C1-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\My Search Uninstall\DisplayName
Although it is possible to manually remove My Search Bar, such activity can permanently damage your system if any mistakes are made in the process, as advanced spyware parasites are able to automatically repair themselves if not completely removed. Thus, manual spyware removal is recommended for experienced users only, such as IT specialists or highly qualified system administrators. For other users, we recommend malware and spyware removal applications.
After removing all these files, restart your computer and the issue will be fixed. And don’t forget to do update your Security Software, check the Firewall Settings and the Operating System and finally do a full system scan with the Security Software.
